Target groups

The EM ECW14 has three target groups. You have to identify which group you belong to before applying for a scholarship.

Target Group 1
Students and academic staff currently enrolled in or affiliated with one of the Partner Universities. Note that you must provide documents that prove that you are currently enrolled in one of the universities that is a member of the partnership. Aplicants to the Chinese partner universities must have a European citizenship (EU, EEA and EU-candidates). Applicants to the European partner universities must have a Chinese citizenship.

Among PhD, Post Doc and staff applicants, a certain priority will be given to those who will participate in the development of cooperation in research or education.

All European applicants belong to this target group. 

The scholarship is offered at the following levels: Undergraduate, Master, Doctorate, Post-Doctorate, Academic staff.

Target Group 2
Chinese Nationals who are studying at or have a degree from a Chinese higher education institution that is not a partner university;

Chinese Nationals who have finished their degree at a Partner University and are no longer enrolled in one;

Chinese Nationals who have finished their degree at a higher education institution and are working in public administration or public and private enterprises.

Priority will be given to persons who are working in organizations dealing with issues that are connected to the prioritized fields (public health, social welfare, entrepreneurship/innovation, environmental issues, international law/human rights).

The scholarship is offered at the following levels: Master, Doctorate, Post-Doctorate.

Target Group 3
Chinese Nationals in particularly vulnerable situations, either due to economic reasons or because of physical disabilities. This project will focus on victims of natural disasters, minorities from lesser developed areas in the interior of China, and students and staff with disabilities. The applicant needs to be studying at or have a degree from a Chinese higher education institution.

You need to submit a document confirming that you belong to this target group.

The scholarship is offered at the following levels: Undergraduate, Master, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate .
