Selection Process

  1. Only complete applications will be considered i.e you have to fill in the online application and upload relevant documents.
  2. The university you have applied to will decide whether you are eligible and can be considered for studies at their university. The university will also rank all candidates that have applied to their university, according to common ranking criteria (see below).
  3. A selection committee will meet to select candidates and finalize the list of nominated students and scholars, in cooperation with all the partner universities.
  4. Students and scholars will be notified by the end of February/ beginning of March.
  5. The list of nominated candidates will be sent to the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and will include a list of reserves.
  6. The host university will be responsible for further processing of the mobility (admission, visa, payment of scholarship, accrediting degrees, accommodation, tuition etc.).
  7. All students and scholars have to start their studies/research before 1 Sept 2010. 

The final selection will be based on the following criteria:

  • Academic performance
  • Language capacity to follow courses, teach/do research at the host university
  • Gender balance
  • The scholar's commitment to come back to his/her home institution/country
  • Established cooperation and intentions to strenghten cooperation between home department and host department will be prioritized, when applicable.
  • Gender balance
  • Prioritized fields of study
  • Spread among the different home universities, host universities and target groups.

  • Environmental issues
  • Social welfare
  • Entrepreneurship/Innovation
  • International law/Human rights
  • Public health
